USPL Players Selection Format

1. Trials

The Trials phase serves as the foundation for identifying and evaluating cricketing talent through a structured and transparent assessment process.
Each participant undergoes a comprehensive Fitness & Skill Assessment, designed to gauge both physical capability and on-field proficiency.
The Fitness Tests include sprinting, agility drills, and endurance runs to measure stamina, reflexes, and overall athletic readiness.
In the Batting Test, players face 6–12 balls with emphasis on timing, shot selection, and power execution.
Similarly, bowlers deliver 6–12 balls focusing on accuracy, variation, control, and speed.
The Fielding Test assesses catching ability, ground fielding, and direct hitting precision.
Collectively, these evaluations ensure a balanced review of every player’s performance potential, discipline, and adaptability under trial conditions.

2. Selection Round

The Selection Round is the decisive stage following the trials, where only the best-performing players advance based on merit and performance consistency.
This phase emphasizes consistency, teamwork, and match temperament — qualities essential for competitive cricket.
Players are evaluated not only on technical skills but also on their ability to perform under pressure and contribute effectively within a team setup.
After a detailed review, approximately 40–60 top players from each state are shortlisted.
